Commercial heating sales jobs – what to look for and how to find the right role for you

Heating sales engineers combine their technical knowledge and sales skills to develop commercial heating projects for organisations such as factories, public sector buildings, hospitals, universities, office buildings and retail developments.

What to look for

Our own research into the commercial heating sector found that HVAC sales engineers like to work for companies that offer support and training to help them in their role. It also showed that employees prefer to work for manufacturers that have a strong brand and reputation.

What qualities you need

You’ll need a strong technical understanding and an ability to build relationships with a number of people at different levels within the organisation you are selling to. Beyond that you’ll need sector experience, product knowledge, integrity and a good grasp of the current commercial heating market.

Finding the right role

The best roles are often offered through specialist HVAC recruitment consultancies like ours. At Thornhvac we have an in-depth knowledge of the HVAC market and the recruitment process. This allows us to identify high performing candidates on behalf of our clients and guide candidates through the selection process.
