The commercial heating jobs market is buoyant as we go into the final quarter of 2015 with a wider range of sales opportunities available than we have seen for some time. There are currently a number of job types that are most in demand and candidates going for these roles can expect to command higher than average salaries if they have the right skills and experience.

Here are the top 4 commercial heating roles in the UK based on our recent activity and discussions with employers in the sector:

  1. Sales roles for pump, pipe and valve manufacturers. We are seeing a lot of these roles coming up at the moment, particularly in London and the South East. Candidates with experience with this type of product, either as an engineer or sales person, should contact us for more information about suitable career opportunities, particularly if they have a strong sales record. Experience of dealing with the M&E market is also an advantage.
  2. Selling to the Building Services sector. We have a number of openings for sales engineers and area sales managers with experience of negotiating with M&E consultants and contractors, distributers and industrial end users in the building services sector. If you have this sort of experience please get in touch as we have opportunities in the South East, Midlands and Yorkshire.
  3. Trainee heating sales engineers. A number of manufacturers are planning ahead for growth in the market and this has created some good trainee opportunities. These are ideal for candidates who want to move from internal sales positions to external roles or for plumbers and heating engineers who have a desire to use their technical knowledge to build a career in sales. We are currently looking for candidates all over the UK for these roles so please get in touch if this is of interest.
  4. Renewables sales engineers. Commercial heating manufacturers are now looking to build sales teams with expertise in renewables to meet the growing demand for green energy options from large M&E contractors in particular. Sales and negotiation skills are usually top of the list of essential skills for these roles and experience of dealing with major contractors will be a significant advantage. If you are a successful sales person with a proven track record at this level please speak to our commercial heating team.
