THE ROLE
* Reporting to the MD, the R&D Manager forms an integral part of the Senior Management Team as the lead for technical and engineering functions.
* Manage and Lead the Product Development process, driving change projects and guiding a product development plan from design and concept to manufacture and launch.
* Responsible for product modifications at project stage to drive through sales, providing technical and design support to customer projects.
* Implementing and improvement of strategy, process and procedures to aid business growth and engineering efficiency.
* Co-ordination across manufacturing, purchasing and operations to ensure continuous improvement of the engineering function of the business.
THE PERSON
* You'll be a degree qualified in mechanical engineering or related subject.
* A background in HVAC or Mechanical/Electrical equipment manufacturing required.
* Leadership and management experience required, with a track record of delivering development projects as lead engineer/manager and be comfortable as part of a Senior Management team.
* You'll be highly organised, commercially able to report on divisional spend and budgets and be a strong team player able to mentor and develop your team's skills and abilities.
THE PACKAGE
A basic salary up to approx c£70k.
Company Car or car allowance, including electric offering.
Bonus paid on both personal performance plus company profitability.

THE LOCATION
Based in Somerset, within 1/2 hour of the coast.
Suitable towns include Taunton, Yeovil and surrounding areas.
