Many of our manufacturing clients are currently looking to expand their air conditioning sales teams and this has prompted a rise in the number of vacancies right across the UK.

Here are the top 5 air conditioning sales roles in the UK at present:

  1. Specification sales engineer. HVAC and engineering sales engineers who sell via the specification route are currently in high demand as manufacturers seek to capitalise on the growth of the M&E market. Air conditioning or mechanical services sales experience is an advantage for these types of roles and salaries are at the upper end of the market. The role involves building good relationships with both contractors and internal sales teams to deliver quotes and see projects through to completion. We are currently looking for candidates all over the UK for these roles so please get in touch if you have relevant experience.
  2. Technical support engineer. These roles involve providing technical support at each stage of the sales and after sales process. Close working relationships with customer-facing sales teams will be essential and some on site visits may be necessary in some roles to troubleshoot technical issues. Employers are looking for candidates with air conditioning experience and technical qualifications relating to areas such as Gas Safe, renewables and heating. Candidates with good communication skills and an interest in this type of role should contact us for more information about suitable career opportunities.
  3. Selling to the Building Services sector. We have a number of openings for sales engineers and area sales managers with experience of negotiating with M&E consultants and contractors. HVAC sales experience is desirable for these types of roles and candidates who have previously been involved in negotiating with contractors will be most attractive to employers. If you have this sort of experience please get in touch as we have opportunities in the South East, South West and other parts of the UK.
  4. Sales roles for air conditioning engineers. Due to the highly technical nature of many air conditioning projects, we are noticing that manufacturers are increasingly asking for engineering experiencing rather than sales experience. This is providing some excellent opportunities for air conditioning engineers who want to develop a career in sales as full sales training is often provided. This is a rewarding career path that makes the most of a candidates technical skills whilst developing commercial expertise. Please get in touch if you are interested in moving from a technical role into sales.
  5. Jobs selling splits, VRF and heat pump technology. We are seeing a number of opportunities coming through for candidates with an air conditioning background who can liaise technically with consultants and engineers on the latest splits, VRF and heat pump technology. Applicants will knowledge of their local M&E market will often be at an advantage. Please speak to our air conditioning team if this role suits your experience.
