As more A-Level school leavers search for alternatives to university opportunities like our Management Degree Apprenticeship are proving to be a popular choice, offering the option to study for a degree whilst earning a salary and gaining real life work skills.

The Sutton Trust charity, which promotes social mobility through education, has been critical of the lack of degree-level apprenticeships and has called for more alternatives to university education for those who want to avoid the debt associated with traditional higher education study.

We are pleased to be pioneering one of these alternatives with our Management Degree Apprenticeship in association with Anglia Ruskin University and accredited by the Chartered Management Institute.

Anglia Ruskin is recognised as a ‘rising star’ in the academic world and ranked 66th in The Guardian league tables. The degree itself is studied over four years alongside a structured training programme in our offices in Leeds, West Yorkshire. Four days a week will be spent learning to be a recruitment consultant with Thornhvac. One day a week or 20% of their time time will be spent studying the online Management degree course with Anglia Ruskin university accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). This course covers the full range of business skills including, managing people, marketing, finance, planning and strategy, decision making, leadership and sustainability. More information on the course is here: https://distancelearning.anglia.ac.uk/courseDetail.php/BA-Hons-Management-29/

They will have been earning a salary and learning practical business skills and, crucially, they will not have a student debt.

Thornhvac is a family-run business that works with employers in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning sectors to help them find the right people and skills to achieve business growth.

As well as covering the fees for the degree course tuition and providing additional in house training we pay a salary of £15,000 to £17,000. This means students can truly earn while they learn and gain valuable skills and work experience to add to their CV. Apprentices will be employees of Thornhvac and will be entitled to all the usual workplace benefits including a company profit sharing scheme and pension.
