A recent study has found that 4 out of 5 students in years 10 and 11 know little or nothing about alternatives to university such as the degree apprenticeship, which is something that we are very proud to offer here at Thornhvac.
The research found that degree apprenticeships are “too big a secret” and called for more information to be shared.
Our own degree apprenticeship scheme has been hugely successful and our first two candidates, Pierce and Hollie, have progressed brilliantly.
Thornhvac offers a Management Degree Apprenticeship, studied over four years alongside a structured training programme in our offices in Leeds, West Yorkshire.
One day a week is devoted to study and four days are spent in our busy, friendly office learning practical skills such as communication, administration and project management.
As part of our team, our apprentices cover the core principles of the course which include people management, marketing, finance, planning and strategy, decision making and leadership.
As well as covering the fees for the degree course tuition and providing additional in house training we pay them a salary so that they earn while they learn. At the end of the training they are awarded a BA (Hons) in Management Practice.
Our first two candidates, Hollie and Pierce, joined us last year and have proved to be a huge asset to the business. They have been enthusiastic, have learned quickly and have developed their skills tremendously since joining us. We are delighted to be supporting their career development and they have fitted in really well in the office.
The success of the degree apprentice scheme means we are now looking for new candidates to join us this year. If you’re a school leaver and you are looking for an alternative to university we’d like to hear from you. You can find out more and apply online here.
