One of the biggest challenges currently faced by top employers and manufacturers in the UK is how they find people with the skills they need to help them grow. This is where good recruiters can really add value and there are some excellent training opportunities for talented school leavers and graduates who want to pursue a career in this rewarding field.

Demand for high quality, tailored recruitment services is high but not all recruitment companies are the same. Sadly, some trainee recruitment consultants are deterred from pursuing a career in the industry because their first experience is of a high-pressure sales environment rather than a skilled recruitment role.

How to choose the right trainee recruitment programme

Often small family businesses, like ours here at Thornhvac, provide the best chance of a high standard of training and support. This is because they regard their trainees as a long term part of their success and they are prepared to invest time and energy in personal development and knowledge sharing.

Good questions to ask to determine what sort of company you are applying to are:

What structured training will be provided?

The graduate and school leaver programmes at Thornhvac are carefully designed to teach IT, customer service and other business skills, all of which will provide an excellent basis for further career growth in the future.

How are bonuses achieved?

At Thornhvac we encourage staff to set their own targets and support them with first class training to achieve their aspirations. We share the profits generated by individual recruiters so there is no cap on earnings. We also share company profits above a stretch target so that everyone benefits from hard work and team working.

What career development opportunities are there?

At Thornhvac we believe that business success depends on having quality people working together to achieve common goals. Personal development is crucial to this process which is why we are committed to investing in the training and development of our employees.

Apply for our BA (Hons) Management Degree Apprenticeship

Thornhvac’s Management Degree Apprenticeship offers A Level school leavers a chance to earn while they learn. At the end of your training you will be awarded a BA (Hons) in Management Practice from Anglia Ruskin University that leads to Chartered status within the Chartered Institute of Management without building up any student debt.
